Would you like to learn how to turn anxiety before or during your game or match, into a positive and powerful energy… So you can maximize your potential regardless of what sport you love to play?

Are you tired of fluctuating confidence levels, and desire to be “on point mentally” for every event?

“My time working with David helped me get my life back on track, dealing with some health issues lead to hormonal imbalances and felt like my life was spiraling out. It was more than a sport issue, but turmoil within life itself. Through reading and journaling David and I re-sparked my confidence, paralleled with treatment to get my health back in order and I skyrocketed not only back to the confident player, but proud and happy man off the field. David is a true friend and I am blessed for his guidance.”

DAVID’S WORK IN THE WORLD OF SPORTS PSYCHOLOGY

For the past 37 years, number one best-selling author, counselor, life coach and sports psychology expert David Essel has helped hundreds of athletes to break through their own mental barriers, their own mind blocks, to be able to maximize their potential in their sport of choice. Here’s the opportunity to work with one of the top professionals in the world today, in order to start having more fun and success in any and all sports that you participate in.

David’s work includes using visualization, cognitive behavioral therapy, emotional freedom technique, The Sedona method, Amino Acid supplementation for focus, as well as writing exercises designed to expose the mental and emotional patterns that could be robbing you of the opportunity to compete at your highest level possible in life.

From the age of eight, David has been engaged and interested in the power of the mind when it comes to maximizing one’s potential in sports and athletics.

His devotion and even obsession with the sport of basketball, led him to model some of the top athletes as a kid, and eventually through a series of coaches in his chosen sport, he found that along with hard work and discipline, redirecting the mind to be a powerful tool was a crucial factor in the success of top athletes.

One of his earliest teachers was his freshman basketball coach, Larry Miller, who drilled into his mind the importance of being more prepared than any opponent ever, both physically and mentally in order to maximize his potential.

His high school coach later on during his junior and senior years, Dale Hesser, taught him additional mental conditioning skills that allowed him, regardless of the pressure, to make free throws with no time remaining on the clock, in a filled gym in order to help his team win games or go into overtime.

His basketball coaches at Syracuse University, Tommy Green, Mark Meadors , under the head coaches Roy Danforth and Jim Boeheim, continued to instill in him the need to be the most conditioned athlete on the team as a point guard, but also the leader in regards to controlling his emotions and understanding the power that comes with the ability to do so.

Since his early beginnings, he has worked with not only basketball players, but also tennis and baseball players, golfers, BMX riders and martial arts experts, as well as athletes from many other sports.

David Essel has a masters degree in sports psychology, exercise physiology and marketing. He is a No.1 best-selling author, counselor, life coach, radio host and international speaker.

David has interviewed, and/or worked with major celebrities in many sports including:

  • Ernest Graham, NFL running back, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

"As a division one basketball player, my coach continued to tell me that if I didn’t reach a higher level of mental control and focus, all of my natural God-given gifts on the court would be a waste of time and I would never be able to maximize my potential.

Then, here comes sport psychology coach David Essel, with one of the most unique ways to get into any athletes head I’ve ever imagined possible.

Within three months of working with David, which I extended to actually a couple years because I continue to see the benefits of his work, I went from someone who is highly motivated when the game was going well, to a “a honey badger“ as David would call me, regardless of the score of the game or the position we were in, in our division, I started playing all out! .

My defense improved dramatically as well as my free throw percentage. And my attitude!

He is truly a master motivator, and his incredibly optimistic approach definitely rubbed off on me, and for several years I’ve been at the top of my game.”

William H., California

“In professional sports, many of us athletes look at reaching out for help with our emotions or motivation as a sign of weakness.

And of course some of us are concerned that if the head office finds out that we’re working with someone in sports psychology, it carries a black mark on our records. Now this isn’t for all teams, but many of the teams I played for at the professional level we didn’t dare tell the staff that we were getting emotional, psychological or motivational support.

David Essel was referred to me by several other professional athletes I played with, who saw my incredible potential, but also saw the ways that I was sabotaging my success.

After they both retired, they told me that I needed to reach out to David, and to commit at least 2 to 3 months with his program and I would see a massive turnaround.

And they were right! I now have introduced David to several other of my teammates at the professional level, and I feel as I touch base with him once a month, that I have everything I need moving forward to become the best professional athlete ever.

And, he can cover every area of life. On the field or off the field, he has experience that can help every athlete be the best human being they can be.“

Edward P. Professional basketball player

“Our daughter had all of the physical skills mastered when it came to becoming a competitive BMX rider, but she totally lacked the emotional maturity, to participate against girls equal or better than her. In other words she used to freeze, and become emotionally disabled prior to her competitions. In just a few sessions, David taught her the most powerful mind calming techniques that she had ever encountered, and combined with his visualization techniques, she began to master her emotions before and during her events.”

- Lana and Julia, CA

“I went from an overly emotional 4.5 tennis player, that could easily get rattled by one simple double fault in a game… to an incredibly mentally controlled player through David’s work. I would recommend him to anyone, at any age and in any sport, as he literally change my life both on and off the court.”

- Lara W. FL

“Jumping from the college ranks, to the pros in the world of golf is much more of a mental jump then it is a physical one. I had all of the physical skills I needed, but at the professional level, the goal that I’ve had since a little kid, I had no idea how to prepare myself before a match. David’s work with cognitive behavioral therapy, was a game changer. I’m not sure how much I’ll proceed as a professional golfer, but my goal is to first get on tour, and then let the rest take care of itself. A calm mindset was the end result of his work. He is great.”

- Zacharia, GA

“I love baseball. As a freshman and sophomore in high school, I performed at the highest level ever since I can imagine. At the end of the sophomore year, a criticizing comment put me in a tailspin. I didn’t know how to get out of it. My confidence and self-esteem drop dramatically, and my junior year was a total disappointment to me and to my team. My mom decided that I come in and do some sports psychology attitude adjustment with David Essel. After eight weeks I could not believe the turnaround. My senior year was radically different from my junior year… As I played once again at the highest level of my capabilities. I could never of done this without Mr. Essel’s guidance, the exercises he gave me during our sessions, I continued to practice even when I wasn’t seeing him. If you love a sport, any sport, you will benefit greatly from his expertise, wisdom and teaching style.”
