The Secret of Grief

The Secret of Grief

Learning how to grieve correctly may be one of the most important tools that is missing in society today.

As a counselor, minister, author and master life coach now for over 40 years, I work with people who have lost a loved one or a relationship or a job or home 25 or even 40 years ago who have never done the grieving themselves and they have suffered throughout this whole period of time.

Too many of us procrastinate on entering a grieving group, or a grieving course, and by the time we do the grief has sunk so deeply into our cells that we’re not even sure we can fully recover emotionally, psychologically or physically.

But there’s great news!

We have created a course many years ago that we now have updated below, to help people gently and smoothly move through the grieving process on a daily and even weekly basis.

Over these 40 years I’ve helped people grieve the ending of a marriage that they had  never taken care of, which totally and finally freed them to be available for new love.

We have helped people grieve the loss of a parent, we have even help people grieve the loss of a child one of the most difficult grieving processes to go through, and through this course they’ve come out the other side with an immense amount of inner peace and calmness.

We have helped people grieve the loss of a career, the loss of a house, the loss of a best friend, we’ve even help many people grieve the loss of a loved Pet…

So no matter what we are dealing with we can help you move through the process to accept  the reality of life, and to learn healthy emotional coping skills so that we can move forward and be emotionally available in life.

Here’s  a few important tips that I want to share that we will go over in detail in our course together:

Number one. Grieving is not linear. It might be five steps forward and three steps backwards, which is why working with a professional is so crucial.

I’ve had people in our grieving course after a couple of weeks think that they’re done, only to find out on week four that they break down in tears because the work has only begun. Please be patient with yourself whether you’re taking my course on grieving or someone else’s.

Number two. For many people, one of the most difficult things to let go of after an event that has create created great grief, is the shame and or guilt that we may be holding within, that needs to be released in order to be free.

We’ve had clients that had incredible guilt because they had stopped visiting their parents on a regular basis and then once the parents passed on, they weren’t prepared because of the guilt they felt of abandoning their parents maybe in their greatest hour of need. We’ve helped people after divorce, grieve the loss of the relationship and may feel guilty about the role they played that led to the demise of their marriage.

Number three. We teach a concept that is so crucial to learn in this world called “emotional regulation“, which is a fancy term that basically describes that we learn how to deal with the sadness, anger, abandonment, shame, guilt, insecurity that often arises during the grieving process. With emotional regulation, we feel each and every emotion, but then on the flip-side we have a coping mechanism that we immediately put into place so that the emotional pain does not get deeper instead of becoming less.

Join us today, don’t wait for tomorrow, too many people procrastinate on the grieving process only to have it come back and rear its ugly head in a much more intense way down the road.

Number four. We will also go into in great detail the role that amino acid supplements play in helping brain chemistry during the grieving process.

We will talk about nutritional recommendations as well that surprisingly can help in the grieving process, depending on your desires we can go deeply into the power of spirituality and healing, prayer and healing, and many other options depending on your individual personality.

Cognitive behavioral therapy… Relaxation techniques… Emotional journaling… And many other tools are used during this course to help you heal.

This course is designed for individuals, on an individual basis. There’s no cookie-cutter way to go through the grieving process, and so that’s why we make sure to make it based on each individual I work with.

In helping people through the grieving process for 40 years, and after creating this course that we have now updated, it’s incredible to think that during this time that I have had to go through my own course in grieving the loss of my mom.

And I’m doing my own course every day, and it’s working. She was an amazing woman, who deeply battled with dementia for 11 months of hell, and when she passed on , even though I wasn’t totally prepared, my past experience and experiences in helping other people deal with grief, lead me to begin practicing my own course now.

Yes, I’m walking my talk. It’s not easy, but it hasn’t been easy for any of my clients ever since we began teaching this course.

It’s not easy… But it sure as hell worth it.
